BIKE FITTING

A bike fit involves getting to know the type of riding and goals you have followed by an in depth assessment and screening process of the rider and then working with this data to make the bike fit the person to optimise function. Advice is also given to address any issues uncovered during the assessment

What to expect on the day

We start with a chat to get to know you and your cycling habits, any issues on the bike, discuss any injuries past and present. Then we will discuss any cycling goals.

A full physiotherapy assessment and movement screen including a detailed injury and medical history.  This component is critical to have full understanding of how your body moves and therefore how it will interact with the bike and what factors may be drivers for any issues you may have on your bike

The on bike bit - dynamic assessment of how you interact with your bike in the current position. Taking note of all contact points including Foot and Pedal interaction. Adjustments made to the bike and/or cleat position with pre and post measurements supplied. Recommendations of any required changes to equipment.

Exercise Prescription - provide a key set of recommended exercises to address any identified dysfunction or imbalances.  Including activation, strength and flexibility exercises with the aim of optimising efficiency and power transfer on the bike.

What to bring

  • Bring your own bike.

  • Please bring the clothes and shoes you would normally ride in.

  • Please also take the time to ensure your cleats are free of debris to allow for adjustment if required.
